Healing Minds: Centre for Counselling and Education (C.C.E.) is thrilled to announce the successful completion of our intensive Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Techniques Workshop. Held on Saturday, 6th December 2025, this dynamic 4-hour session brought together passionate psychology students, active psychologists, and counsellors eager to master this highly effective therapeutic approach.
Conveniently located at our Baishnabghata Byelane clinic, Healing Minds C.C.E. serves as a premier mental health training hub for professionals and students from across South Kolkata, proudly welcoming attendees from Garia, Patuli, Baghajatin, Jadavpur, Naktala, Tollygunge, and Sonarpur.
Workshop Highlights & Core Training Modules
Running from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the workshop was meticulously designed to prioritize hands-on training over traditional lectures. Participants engaged deeply with the core pillars of ACT, gaining practical, real-world clinical experience in:
- Cognitive Defusion: Learning techniques to detach from and observe unhelpful thoughts (addressing cognitive delusion).
- Acceptance: Making space for and embracing thoughts and feelings without trying to suppress or change them.
- Present Moment Awareness: Cultivating mindfulness to stay anchored in the “now.”
- Self as Context: Understanding the observing self beyond rigid personal identities.
- Values: Helping clients clarify what is truly meaningful and important in their lives.
- Committed Action: Setting actionable goals and taking effective steps guided by core values.
- Practical Application: Engaging in experiential exercises to confidently apply ACT techniques in therapy sessions.
